The first time David saw Chrissy was during a group date to an old diner. She, being a geometry teacher, was the natural pick to divvy up the check and calculate a tip. David thought she was cute, so he tried a one-liner on her about her sweet calculation skills. With bills fanned out in her hands, Chrissy gave him a long look. And then wheeled around and walked away without saying a word. David was left speechless watching her retreating back. Speechless, but intrigued.
David, Chrissy and I ventured into Georgetown this past weekend for their engagement photos and I was not prepared for the level of gorgeous they were about to drop on me. Needless to say, I can’t wait for their wedding at the end of the month. I apologize in advance for how long this post is- I had a really hard time narrowing down photos for the blog, and after perusing these images, I’m sure you’ll understand why.
The morning began down by the docks of the Potomac…
“I didn’t want to have to do this, but you leave me no choice. Here comes ‘the smolder.'”
You two belong on the cover of a magazine!
I was worried when we first started in the morning, since the cloud cover was robbing me of that golden morning light that I love so much. But God is faithful, and we found a brief patch of light! AH! David and Chrissy, I LOVE you for agreeing to schedule our session for 6:30 am!
Chrissy, you are SO BEAUTIFUL.
After shooting around the waterfront, we headed over to Georgetown University where David completed his undergrad. He was geeking out about being on campus again, but I don’t blame him. What a gorgeous place to go to school!
This photo took a bit of sacrifice on the behalf of Chrissy’s collarbone/shoulderblade, but you’ll see below that it was totally worth it (well, at least I think so!)
Don’t get me wrong- Radford’s campus is amazing. But Georgetown made me want to go back to school, just to be on its campus and in its halls.
David asked me to take a photo of the Georgetown motto, “Ad majorem dei gloriam.” He looked up the translation on his phone and we found out it means “To the greater glory of God.” And then David said “that’s kind of the theme of our wedding, how fitting!”
I knew I loved this couple.
Chrissy wanted to stop into Dean & Deluca to poke around a bit and I’m so glad we did. I’ve never been there, but I’m pretty sure if I ever move to DC, this will be the new hot spot.
They’re so fun.
The end…. until next month!
Happy Tuesday!

Wow, Abby, these are gorgeous pics! I love every single one of them. You did such a great job capturing their playfulness and love.
ok ok… where to start… I love the ones inside, under the arches, and I love the ones in from of the white brick wall with the vine on it, and I LOVE the one of him and the baseball cap, kissing her while they both have their eyes closed (it might be my fav!), and I love the two long ones of them on the, eh, trolly tracks? Is that what they are? hehe. These are so gorgeous, Abby, I can see why you couldn’t narrow them down!
